State of Hunger

This week the Trussell Trust has launched State of Hunger, the largest ever piece of research into hunger and food bank use in the UK.

The research shows that households who have been referred to a food bank have an average weekly income after housing costs of just £50. They’re struggling to afford to buy the absolute essentials that we all need to eat, stay warm and dry, and keep clean – with 94% in real destitution.
